How it Works

How a kids consignment sale works...

Make Money!  Clean out the closets and turn your child's outgrown clothing or unused items into cash.  We will pay you a larger percentage than consignment shops and you set your own prices! You know the value of your items and what you would like to receive for them. You name your price and if you want to participate in our Half Price Sale. See our pricing tab if you need some guidance on pricing your items.

ITS EASY!!! Consignors with Golden Isles Kids Consignment Sale (GIKCS)...price, tag, and hang their items and  bring them to the sale location during drop off hours.  We do everything else!!  You do not have to be present at the sale - we handle the sale,  advertising,  publicity,  display and clean-up! As a Consignor you will receive 70% of the selling price of your items.  A $8 participation fee will be requested to be paid when you register as a consignor.  You will pay through paypal with your paypal account or with a debit card.  This fee is non-refundable.

A  lot of our consignors also volunteer with us.  Volunteering is a LOT of fun!  AND our volunteers are the FIRST to shop the sale - even before consignors!  You must work a 4 hr. shift as a volunteer to be eligible for the early shopping priviledge.  Please read our volunteer guidelines under "Volunteers" for more information.

GIKCS features new and gently used clothing.  We do not accept items with stains, tears, excess wear, etc.  We will be inspecting each items that comes in for sale, so please only bring items you would consider purchasing yourself.  THIS IS NOT A GARAGE SALE.  Please do not be offended if we do not accept some of your items.  This enables us to maintain high quality sales and allows you, the consignor, to know that your items will offer only the best to the customers.

To be a consignor...

1.  Click on REGISTER NOW to sign up as a  consignor.

We will be using  "my consignment manager" to register consignors.  First you will set up a user account, get your consignor number and then begin creating your tags for your items.  This process is very simple and will help you to create your tags quickly and easily!!  You will LOVE this system.  It also allows us to get your check quickly after the end of the sale.

2.  GETTING your items ready for the sale.
WASH, iron, and replace missing buttons on clothing. Do what is needed to present your items are in excellent condition.  Zip zippers, button buttons!  Accessories sell best with the outfit they were intended for - use a ziploc bag to keep accessories with outfits if needed.  The better an item looks, the better chance it has of selling and at a better price!  For specific guidelines, please see "Preparing Your Items".

3.  TAG YOUR ITEMS

All tags MUST be printed through your user account with "My Consignment Manager".  Tags must be printed on white card stock paper - 60 - 67 lb.  See our TAGGING tab for instructions.
Hang all clothing on hangers (children's hangers work the best - especially for baby clothes, but we will allow adult size hangers for bigger kids sizes).  They can be be purchased at Wal-Mart, Target, or The Dollar Store.

We cannot accept any item at drop-off that has not be pre-tagged.  We cannot accept any other form of tagging other than our tagging system through my consignment manager.

4.  DROP OFF items

All items MUST be on hangers at time of drop off.  Hang all clothing on hangers with the hook opening to the left (like a question mark).  Please allow approximately 30 minutes for drop off as we will be screening items to ensure quality.  Drop off will go fast if items are hung correctly and sorted by gender and size.  All consignors will be required to sign the Consignor Agreement Form at Drop-Off.


5.  ATTEND our CONSIGNOR PRE-SALE EVENT!!!!

 

6.  PICK UP OF UNSOLD ITEMS

All unsold items MUST be picked up at the designated pick up day/time - SPRING 2014 pick up is

SUNDAY, March 16th from 1:30-3:30.  We CANNOT hold your items after the pick up date.  Any items that have not been picked up after the designated times become the property of GIKCS and may be donated.

7.  YOUR PAYMENT

All checks will be mailed within 2 weeks of the close of the sale.  You will receive your check for 70% of your items sold.  All checks must be deposited within TWO WEEKS of receiving your check or the check will be cancelled.
